Peaky Blinders season 6 Netflix release date: When will the new series be released?
Season six of Peaky Blinders hasn’t officially got the nod from the BBC but it’s highly likely to be renewed by the broadcaster soon. The show will be airing on BBC One in the UK and be available on Netflix later on. In America, Peaky Blinders will be airing on Netflix US after it’s been aired in Britain. Here’s everything you need to know about when Cillian Murphy series will be available on the streaming platform.
When will Peaky Blinders season 6 be released on Netflix?
Given the show hasn’t even hit screens in the UK, it’s hard to predict a Netflix UK release date.
However, early estimates suggest Peaky Blinders season six will be airing on the BBC at some point next year, if not 2021.
This means the earliest season six would be on Netflix UK would be 2023.
Previous seasons of the drama have arrived on Netflix UK 18 months after the show has finished airing in Britain.
However, if you live in the UK, you can watch it for free on BBC One and online on the BBC iPlayer with episodes available to stream and download.
Currently, seasons one to four of Peaky Blinders are on Netflix UK and available to binge.
For those in America, season five is confirmed to be landing on Netflix UK on October 4.
Netflix will also be making the new series available across all its global territories from this date.
When will Peaky Blinders season 6 be released on Netflix US?
Netflix US is only going to be releasing season six once UK broadcast is complete.
So season six will be dropping across the world on Netflix only once British viewers get to watch it first.
As there’s no BBC air date, a Netflix US release date is tricky to predict. But the gap between UK broadcast and dropping on the platform could only be seven weeks, if season five is any indicator.
The show is likely to be made available in its entirety for viewers across the world to binge.
Season six is going to be picking up from the finale of the fifth outing as the story of the Birmingham gangster family continues.
Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has previously suggested that show will be ending with seven seasons.
So fans can expect two more runs to look forward before the show bows out for good.
There have also been reports of films and even stage shows, but it’s all speculation at the stage.
Nevertheless, Knight has already explained his vision for how the show will end, saying he’s got a “roadmap”.
He explained to Express.co.uk in 2017: “I’ve always had a pretty clear road map of how this works between World War One and World War Two, and it’s flexible in that you can get to the destination quicker or slower.”
Knight added: “I want it to end with the first air raid siren in Birmingham in the Second World War, so that will be the start of the next chapter in British history. It’s that period.”
Peaky Blinders season 5 concludes on BBC One tonight at 9pm
