RHONY alum Bethenny Frankel claims she was 'almost arrested' during nasty custody war with ex after 'abusive' marriage
REAL Housewives of New York City alum Bethenny Frankel claimed she was “almost arrested” during her nasty custody war with her ex-husband after their “abusive” marriage.
The 51-year-old finalized her divorce from ex Jason Hoppy in early 2021.
During Tuesday’s episode of her podcast Just B, Bethenny opened up about her divorce from Jason, 51, that was finalized eight years after their split.
Throughout the podcast, the RHONY alum explained that she asked for primary custody of their daughter Bryn, 11, so that she had “flexibility” to see her around her busy schedule.
However, she said Jason wasn’t on the same page and claimed he made the custody and other aspects of the divorce challenging.
The Bravo star said she “wasn’t able to communicate” with Bryn “when it wasn’t my time.”
She continued: “I was taunted, I was tormented and I wasn’t able to communicate with her.
“It was absolute torture. You have a little kid who’s being shown candy and being lured into another room and they can’t talk to you.

“It’s exasperating because then if you do have to go on a work trip and you’re away for five or six days you just don’t get to speak to your child and you’re panicked that they’re gonna forget you.”
Bethenny added that losing contact with Bryn was her “worst fear come true.”
She then said lawyers advised her not to move out of the house she shared with Jason, even though she was “going through issues like fraud and being recorded” by her ex.
Instead of buying a new property, Bethenny and Bryn lived in hotels and corporate apartments during the first year of the divorce.
The RHONY alum then bought a place in the Hamptons and brought Bryn everywhere to “reduce the time at home.”
Later in the episode, Bethenny shared she had been granted “decision making for my child’s medical and education.”
During the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Bethenny claimed Bryn “didn’t want to do custody transfers.”
After explaining that she wouldn’t force Bryn to see Jason if she didn’t want to, the TV personality claimed her lawyer said she had to let Jason see their daughter.
However, Bethenny refused and “was threatened to be arrested and was held in contempt of court and Bryn was awarded her own attorney so she could have a voice.”
Bethenny and the pharmaceutical executive filed for divorce in 2013 after three years of marriage.
Despite her tough divorce, Bethenny found love again with fiancé Paul Bernon.
The Bravo star became engaged to Paul in March 2021.
Ever since Paul popped the question, Bethenny hasn’t been shy about flaunting her massive diamond engagement ring.
