Scarlett Moffatt says she loves her body as she poses in red maxidress after hitting back at ‘haters’ who criticised her Pride look – The Sun

SCARLETT Moffatt has defiantly revealed she loves her body while posing in a red maxidress just days after hitting back at haters who criticised her rainbow Pride look.

The former Gogglebox star, 29,  posted a smiley picture of herself on Instagram in the bright flamenco-style number and says she has "self love", despite the body-shamers.

She captioned the image: "Feeling like a curvy Spanish señorita emoji! I think it’s important to have self love and honestly when I look in the mirror wearing this I love what I see, I’m not picking all the bits about myself I’m not keen on! and I don’t care if that sounds big headed."

Scarlett's long red frock featured buttons along the front, was tied at the waist and was finished off with a ruffled hem.

The £16 dress is available from fashion retailer Peacocks, for whom Scarlett is a brand ambassador.

She paired the dress with leopard print open-toe heels and wore her raven locks pulled back as she snapped herself in the mirror in her bedroom.

Fans rushed to compliment her look and cheered her positive outlook.

"You look amazing. Self love," wrote one, while another simply said: "Gorgeous."

One asked: "What size does your range go up to? You look fab in all of it", and followed it with a fire emoji.

Earlier in the week, the I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! winner stood strong in the face of critics who slammed the multi-coloured dress she wore for Pride in New York.

The jungle queen wrote on her Instagram page: "Blocking out the haters with my rainbow sparkle."

The next day, she posted a video of herself flying home and waving a flag. In the caption, she wrote: "Seeing everybody come together this weekend has made me not give up, theirs a lot of crap that goes on in the world, but theirs also a lot of love and support. Nothing in life matters more than being kind."

Her friend John Barrowman quickly commented: "You got that right my love!!! Fabulous!! jb."

After Scarlett stepped out in the shimmering sequinned number, lots of negative comments flooded social media.

"I like Scarlett but that outfit does her no favours" said one.

Others were even more cutting, joking that she looked like a character out of Little Britain and also comparing her to Chatty Man host Alan Carr.

Some even suggested she had edited the image on her instagram, writing: "Looks photoshopped to me compared to other images of her on that day."

Scarlett had teamed the sparkly dress with a bumbag, military-style hat, and a pair of flip-flops as she marched through New York.

The reality star-turned-presenter has been open in the past about her struggles with body image in the past.

When she appeared on an episode of Love Island: Aftersun last year, she was trolled so badly over her weight that she was unable to go out in public afterwards.

Back in May, she  posted a image of herself from that episode, in which she wore a floral red and white dress, to promote Mental Health Awareness Week.

She wrote: "I used to avoid this photo it would upset me because even thinking about this moment where I got trolled for the way I looked reminded me of the state of depression it sent me in to the point where I didn’t even want to leave the house!

"But I don’t think that looking at this photo now! NOW I see a young girl living her best life appearing on a show she loves, showing off her best assets and her curves.

"As far as becoming a good role model as like everyone I’m not and haven’t been perfect all I can do going forward is to try and help people, people like me who felt like their body defines them."
