Shayne Ward heaps praise on Alison King for her Corrie performance
Shayne Ward has heaped praise on Alison King in Coronation Street for her performances in the psychosis storyline for Carla Connor (Alison King) as he has insisted in a video interview with Metro.co.uk that the suicide of Aidan will continue to impact on the family.
Explaining that Carla’s story is very much rooted in her grief for Aidan, the star told us that he hoped that Corrie would keep the conversation going – not necessarily by mentioning Aidan constantly but by not forgetting the impact his death had on the Connors.
Speaking with his fiancee Sophie Austin, known for playing serial killer Lindsey Butterfield in Hollyoaks, Shayne enthused that he was proud to have been involved in the story and never expected it to create such a legacy.
The plot went on to be well awared in the soap awards with prizes such as Best Storyline, Scene Of The Year and Best Episode. It led to an outpouring of calls to mental health charities from men who could relate to Aidan or David.
Carla meanwhile has left for Carlisle with Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) where she will begin her recovery in a mental health unit.
