Love Island 2019 only kicked off last week on Monday, June 3 with 12 singletons going into the famous ITV2 villa. The Love Island cast members have only been in the villa for a week but it looks like there’s already trouble in paradise. Sherif Lanre decided to quit the show after he broke the rules of the ITV2 series.

Why has Sherif Lanre quit Love Island 2019?

Sherif has quit Love Island after breaking the rules of the programme and decided mutually to walk away from the villa.

In a statement, a Love Island spokesman told Express.co.uk: “After breaking the villa rules S had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa.”

Sherif went on to say: “In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.

“I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20-year-old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.”

He added: “I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside.”

Sherif was coupled up with Anna Vakili, who is now single and not in a couple, leading to questions about who she could team up with.

What did Sherif Lanre do on Love Island?

There’s been no confirmation of what actually happened and how Sherif broke the rules on the show.

There are rules which Islanders have to adhere to while in the house. Express.co.uk has contacted ITV for comment on this and to see the guidelines.

According to reports, some of the Love Island rules include not masturbating while in the house and not appearing in the nude because the villa considered a public space.

WHO HAS PREVIOUSLY WON LOVE ISLAND?

Contestants are only allowed to smoke in the designated smoking area which only one person can use at a time.

Ex-Islander Simon Searles previously told The Sun: “They give you a bit of a handbook before and it’s in regards to consent, nakedness, condoms, what’s right and what’s not.

“You never really get a lot of drink but they do say if someone’s had too much to drink do not have sex with them.

“It’s just obvious social stuff. Even though it’s a bedroom it’s a public bedroom.”

IS LOVE ISLAND ON SUNDAYS?

He went on to say: “Everyone is just uptight.”

There have also been reports that contestants can’t drink too much on the programme. 

Meanwhile, former contestant Liana Isadora Van-Riel said: “You’re allowed one or two drinks a night, either wine or beer, no spirits.”
