Shirley Ballas teases Strictly romance as she claims ‘sparks could fly’
Despite the infamous "Strictly curse", Shirley Ballas has claimed "sparks could fly" between some of this year's contestants.
The 59-year-old judge hasn't specifically revealed who she thinks has a connection, but over the next few weeks it should become clear as she revealed to The Sun "watch this space".
It appears the dance teacher has her eyes on a number of the professionals and the celebs – and she knows who to watch.
Shirley confessed: "It's only been Week One but you can see chemistry developing. Watch this space."
The head judge appears to be very fond of Emmerdale's Kelvin Fletcher, 35. She called him "beyond incredible" after watching last week's dance routine with dance partner Oti Mabuse, 29.
"The clothes fitted where they touched and then he did the samba, the hardest dance to do. Most people cannot come to grips with the samba," Shirley gushed.
It comes after celebrities and their dance partners from previous shows have left the show in a relationship with their on-screen partner, due to the intimate training and sexy dance routines.
Now Strictly has been regarded as "cursed" after a series of break-ups from show contestants have been made very public.
Neil and Katya Jones split in August after it was revealed she was pictured kissing her dance partner Seann Walsh, and later broke up with her husband.
But Shirley admits she is glad pro dancer Katya was given another chance on the show despite her fling with Seann, and says "she's young, everybody learns lessons".
And Stacey Dooley split from her long-term boyfriend of three years after he became paranoid over her relationship with dance partner Kevin.
But it seems there could be another couple affected by the curse as the judge watches closely.
Shirley has admitted she is "dreading" this weekends show as she doesn't want to send anyone home.
The star revealed she is excited for Anneka Rice, 60, and pro dancer Kevin Clifton, 36, as she says it's "interesting" to see what Kevin is going to do.
This Morning's Phillip and Holly were left in hysterics as the "curse" may have hit Anneka and Kevin already.
