Strictly Come Dancing fans fuming after shock elimination results
Strictly Come Dancing fans were in uproar tonight after Max George and Dianne Buswell were sent home in a shock elimination.
The pair were given their marching orders after facing off against former bookies faves Maisie Smith and Gorka Marquez in the dreaded dance-off.
This was despite viewers hedging their bets on JJ Chalmers and Amy Dowden being given the boot after falling to the bottom of the leaderboard with their jive.
But instead Max and Dianne had to perform their American Smooth to It Had To Be You once again, with Maisie and Gorka performing a Cha Cha to Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper.
After the dance-off, judges Craig Revel-Horwood and Anton Du Beke (who was filling in for Motsi Mabuse) chose to save Maisie and Gorka.
Head judge Shirley Ballas later said if her vote was needed, she would’ve saved Max and Dianne.
Viewers were fuming at the bottom two and took to Twitter to demand Max and Dianne to stay:
Speaking after his elimination, Max told Tess Daly: ‘I’ve loved it. It’s all down to Dianne, she’s been literally amazing.
‘For me to get through 90 seconds of a dance for four weeks now is a credit to her, she’s just unbelievable.
‘I’ve got to say, all these guys over here are the nicest group of people ever. I love you all!’
Dianne also told him: ‘‘I know you always say you want to do me proud and oh my goodness you’ve done me more than proud – so well done.
‘I also want to say thank you to the judges. Anton, you were incredible tonight. Thank you so much.’
Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday at 7.15pm on BBC One.
