Strictly Come Dancing's first ever all-male same sex couple John Whaite and Johannes Radebe sent the professional dancers, show audience and judges into a massive round of applause after their hugely successful first dance during Saturday night's show.

While the entire studio were overwhelmed by the power and technique delivered in the performance, head judge Shirley Ballas also labelled it a "testimony to the same sex couple".

"Well I feel that this is a testimony to the same sex couple," she began. "It’s absolutely exquisite.

"And to go from being a leader to being led, is unbelievably difficult and you executed just phenomenally well.

"Beautiful choreography Johannes it’s absolutely stunning. Well done," the judge added.

Anton Du Beke echoed the praise as he continued: "It was really strong, all the things I like.

"It was strong, it was clean, it was powerful. Wonderful timing at the top, listen just carry on like that please and I’ll be delighted."

Craig Revel Horwood was cheeky as ever however, giving some criticism about Great British Bake Off star John leaving his "thumb" stuck up throughout the dance.

Laughing, Tess Daly asked the judge if he had anything else to say.

"Oh I loved it I thought it was absolutely incredible," the judge teased.

Viewers were also in awe of the dance, as one fan declared: "John and Johannes was magical. Loved it. #strictly."

"Absolutely incredible thought they were excellent," another person gushed.

While a third wrote: "Loved John and Johannes what a good pairing #strictly."

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One.
