The Dingles say a final goodbye to Lisa in an emotional double Emmerdale

There are bittersweet scenes ahead in Emmerdale tonight as the Dingle family say goodbye to Lisa. And while they try to keep things uplifting, fun and oh-so-very Dingle (there are pig races and everything!), they can’t hide the enormity of the emotion and sadness they are feeling over the loss.

As the family, led by Charity (Emma Atkins), put the final preparations together for Lisa’s funeral, there is joy and laughter to be had as the community come together to celebrate the life of the much loved matriarch.

But Lisa has one last job to do – can she unite the rifts in the Dingle household and can everyone pull together to get through the toughest of days?

Chas will reign when letters left for members of the clan by Lisa are lost when they get accidentally sent to a charity shop with some of her old belongings. As Lydia Hart (Karen Blick) realises this, she darts out, facing a race against time to recover Lisa’s final words for the people she loved.

Can she recover them or will Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper), Zak (Steve Halliwell) and the others never read what Lisa wanted them to know in her final days?

The double episode tonight plays heavy focus on everything that is Dingle – outrageous events, plenty of laughter and loudness but also a huge amount of heart. And it really hits home the message that while the Dingles must now pick themselves up and get on with life, it’s never going to be the same without Lisa at the centre of it all.

When the chaos is at an end and everyone has some time to privately reflect on Lisa, the emotions flow as everyone realises just how much Lisa is going to be missed.

Can Zak and Belle bravely meet Lisa’s wishes and live their lives to the fullest without her?

Emmerdale airs the emotional scenes on Thursday 6th June at 7pm and 8pm on ITV.
