The One Show fans fume over show shake up as studio relocates in one-off episode

The One Show fans were not impressed with the swanky location for Wednesday's (February 23) programme.

Hosts Alex Jones, 44, and Ronan Keating, 44, were presenting the show from Buckingham Palace alongside former member of parliament Gyles Brandreth and Masterchef star Monica Galetti.

The special episode was set-up to mark 100 days until the celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee which will mark her 70 years of service.

Celebrations will run from Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June across the UK with a four day bank holiday.

However, viewers were not enamoured with the early honouree show as they hit out that it was "cringeworthy".

One person wrote on Twitter: "This is all a bit much. Sorry. #theoneshow."

Another joked: "Anyone want to wish me Happy Birthday tonight. It's only 60 odd days to go #theoneshow."

A third penned: "What's on tomorrow's #TheOneShow then? 305 days to go until Christmas special? #cringe."

"Wtaf, celebrating 100 days to go before the queens jublie #TheOneShow," complained a fourth.

While a fifth person added: "Ugh. Ronan Keating giving me the ick right now. Going on about the Queens jubilee, in Buckingham palace… how’d you enjoy taking that soup Ronan? #TheOneShow."

The upcoming four days of celebrations will include public events and community activities, as well as national moments of reflection on The Queen’s 70 years of service.

In addition, initiatives including The Queen’s Green Canopy and the Platinum Pudding competition are also in full swing.
