The Suspect viewers all have the same complaint about thriller as they slam big 'distraction' | The Sun
DESPITE being the latest must-watch murder series out right now, The Suspect has been slammed by viewers for one fine detail.
The ITV drama is an adaptation of Michael Robotham's novel – a psychological thriller based on the leading character Dr Joseph O’Loughlin.
He appears to have the picture-perfect life – a successful career, a devoted wife a daughter and even a publishing deal.
That is until he finds himself in the centre of an unsettling murder investigation, after a young woman named Catherine is found in a shallow grave in a West London cemetery.
Unclear whether Catherine was murdered or took her own life, Joe is asked to give his expertise on the case, and so sets about profiling the woman.
However, those hooked by the gripping storyline were soon taken aback by an attempt at a "suspicious" Scouse accent.

Taking to Twitter, one person fumed: "I’m enjoying The Suspect, but there were some very dodgy attempts at the Scouse accent tonight."
Echoing their comments, someone else said: "The most suspicious thing in The Suspect are the Scouse accents."
While a third remarked: "That copper is about as Scouse as I am. What a s***e accent."
Every Liverpudlian has endured some pretty terrible Scouse impressions from non-natives.
Despite what most people seem to think, replicating the accent can be rather difficult.
So much so that it has tripped up many actors over the years.
Although it has proved to be a challenge from some, Martin Freeman won praise for his "impressive" Scouse accent in BBC crime drama The Responder.
