Dan Wootton invited Insulate Britain activist Tracey Mallaghan onto GB News on Thursday as the pair debated the motivations of the climate change group. However, the pair furiously clashed when Dan questioned why Insulate Britain concentrate their protests on UK soil rather than focussing on countries that are responsible for higher greenhouse gas emissions.

Dan began: “But why are you protesting on UK streets? When we are doing more than anyone in the world? What is your point?

“Why don’t you go to China? Why don’t you go to India? Why don’t you go to the USA?

“Why don’t you take your campaign of terror to Australia? Not the UK we’re doing more than any of these major Western democracies.”

“Stop it Dan you’re being a drama Queen,” Tracey quipped.

“You told me we were going to have a decent conversation if you don’t want me to treat you like Richard Madeley then let’s have that normal conversation.”

“But you make me so mad,” Dan remarked and she hit back: “Because you don’t want to hear the truth. “The truth is ugly and I get it I’m used to people being very cross with the messenger.”

Dan interjected: “But the truth is, we’ve done more than any other major country.”

“That is not true we are going to break a legally binding agreement to keep us under 2.4 degrees of warming,” Tracey explained.

“Now if we go over 1.5 we’re selling out the Marshall Islands and loads of countries are going to go into waters.

“Either you are heartless and you don’t care what we’re doing to other people, or you don’t understand the science and you’re too scared to look at it.

“You don’t understand the science,” the GB News presenter hit back.

“Do you get that the UK is now responsible for less than 1% of global emissions?” Dan asked.

“Do you understand every country apart from China which we use to do our dirty work, do you understand every country is responsible?

“So you’re saying China is excusable it’s our fault?” Dan questioned.

The Insulate Britain protester said: “What you’re saying is no country should take any kind of responsibility and I’m not on board for that.

“We all take our one percent responsibility and we’ll get there. You’re selling out the British public by saying blame it all on China.”

“We’ve done it!” Dan exclaimed. “Don’t you understand we’ve done it? We have cut our global emissions [by 41 percent].”

“No we haven’t done it, 2.4 degrees of warming is a death sentence to the Marshall Islands. Do you not care? Are you heartless or are you stupid Dan?”

“Sadly, I think you are a little bit stupid because you’re not understanding what I’m saying which is the UK has done our bit.”

GB News kicks off with the Great British Breakfast on weekdays at 6am.
