The Walking Dead confirms 2021 return date with six new episodes
The Walking Dead is back very soon with six additional season 10 episodes, and an official release date has now been released.
The AMC show confirmed the date on Twitter, announcing that the zombie drama ‘returns Sunday, February 28th, 2021 with six new episodes’.
The episode titles have also been revealed, and it looks like there’s a return for one of the show’s most notorious villains, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
The episodes are titled Home Sweet Home, Find Me, One More, Splinter, Diverged and Here’s Negan.
Speaking at the virtual San Diego Comic-Con panel, showrunner Angela Kang previously announced tentative plans for six new episodes of season 10 to air in 2021.
Kang revealed: ‘Obviously, Covid has disrupted a lot of stuff for every workplace, including ours. ‘We haven’t been able to restart production, but we’ll be getting back to work as soon as we safely can.
‘We will not be airing season 11 episodes this year as we normally would.’
Meanwhile, it was recently announced that The Walking Dead is officially coming to an end in 2022 following its 11th season.
Spin-offs and the anthology series will also be arriving once the show finished.
The zombie series – which has starred the likes Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon), Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) and Danai Gurira (Michonne) down the years – was based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book, and has terrified fans since 2010.
The Walking Dead airs on AMC and Amazon Prime Video.
