Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) is not best pleased in Coronation Street next week when she discovers that Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) has ‘tucked in’ to her Turkish Delight.

The popular cobbles character, however, retaliates in a big way, as she nicks a biscuit that Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) had purchased for his daughter!

Ty returns home to find his nan devouring the festive treat, and wastes little time in telling her off.

But Evelyn is unfazed, telling him that she was disappointed that ‘someone who should remain nameless’ ate her Turkish Delight.

Ty, shocked, claims Hope must have a ‘death wish’, and asks Evelyn if her decision to steal the child’s biscuit is ‘payback’.

‘Yes!’, she exclaims, ‘And you know what they say? Revenge tastes SWEET!’.

And with that, she carries on eating!

The subject of the conversation steers towards Tyrone, however, with Evelyn remarking that he’s handled Fiz Stape’s (Jennie McAlpine) decision to move on with Phill Whittaker (Jamie McKenna) incredibly well.

In fact, she even brands him ‘mature’!

But Ty has a trick up his sleeve, or so he thinks, as he tells his nan that he’s playing the long game, hoping to win back Fiz’s affection when her relationship with Phill, according to him, inevitably comes to an end.

Evelyn reckons he’s deluded!

Coronation Street airs these scenes Monday December 27 on ITV.
