Yellowstone has missed its traditional release date of June and there is hope by fans season four will be back in July. However new information has emerged which suggests the wait for new episodes could be longer. Now fans have spotted a clue which hints it could be released in August.

Will Yellowstone return in August?

For Yellowstone fans the wait for season four has been long and frustrating with little concrete information coming for the release date.

Fans pinned their hopes on a June drop for season four, however, the month has nearly passed without an update on the show.

Paramount remains tight-lipped on season four, without so much as a trailer to indicate the release of the upcoming season.

However, fans on Reddit have noted Paramount’s upcoming schedule and it suggests season four could be coming in August.

On the Yellowstone subreddit, one fan shared the details of Paramount’s slate, noting: “Hate to bear the bearer of bad news.

“I just scrolled through Paramount’s schedule up to 7/12 at 5:30 a.m. and still no listings for S4-E1. Bummer.” (sic)

This will be a blow for fans who were hoping for a July release, with many expected July 11 to be the faithful day it would drop.

Yet, the schedule inadvertently suggests season four could be coming in August with another fan noting an upcoming event that could be causing the delay.

The fan replied: “I think the soonest we can hope for the premiere is the week after the Olympics. That will bring us to the second week of August.”

This year’s Olympics, which have also suffered numerous delays due to the ongoing COIVD-19 pandemic, will be running from July 23 to August 8.

Paramount likely do not want to conflict the release of season four with the global event, which will pull viewers away from other content airing at the same time.

However, another fan believes paramount could be setting up the spin-off shows ahead of season four, prioritising them in a bid to win over fans for the new series.

One fan said: “I have an irrational fear that they’re going to pull some bullshit and air Y: 1883 before season 4.” (sic)

Similarly, to season four, the spin-off Y: 1883 and 6666 do not have release dates and the details on the shows remain vague.

Y: 1883 is set to be a prequel series that will focus on the early years of the Dutton family ranch.

The show will have an entirely new cast, with Kevin Costner as John Dutton unlikely to make an appearance due to the time period.

However, familiar faces may pop up in 6666 as it will run parallel to the events of the main series.

6666 will be set in a Texan ranch and will focus on another family protecting their land and dealing with the stresses of modern-day ranching.

Either way, there has been no official comment from Paramount about the release of season four or the spin-off shows.

Season four was believed to have completed filming in November of 2020, making the post-production on the season now seven months long.

There has been a backlog of content broadcasters have had to work through due to delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

This will be a factor that has come into play for the new season, however, no reasoning for the delay has been revealed.

The series continues to be one of Paramount’s most popular shows, with the spin-off series indicating that the studio has big plans for the franchise.

With three shows in development, Yellowstone fans have a lot to look forward to with the series continuing to build in intensity.

Season three was by far the most dramatic season so far and while no plot details for season four have been confirmed, it will once again build on the momentum of the series.
