On Monday, Strictly Come Dancing fans saw the return of the Strictly Pro Challenge on BBC spin-off It Takes Two. Rylan Clark welcomed Johannes Radebe and Cameron Lombard onto the show to find out the results of the latest challenge. However, Craig Revel Horwood who was helping to judge the Guinness World Records attempt, couldn’t resist picking out Johannes’ mistake.

Craig introduced: “The Strictly pro challenge is back and for the first time ever it includes not just steps but hand placement too – it’s the patty cake.”

“We’re attempting to set a world record for the most complete patty cakes performed in 30 seconds.

“The patty cake commonly features in one of my favourite dances, the Cha Cha Cha so I will be watching more closely than ever.”

The Strictly judge was joined by Guinness World Records adjudicator Sophia Greenacre.

Johannes was the first to watch back his attempt at breaking the record.

Craig pointed out Johannes came 10th in 2018, ninth in 2019 and sixth last year in the pro challenge.

During the challenge, the Ballroom and Latin dancer missed his footing and fell off the podium before regaining his position.

Once his 30 seconds were up, Craig commented: “A little bit of a slip-up darling you fell off the dais I noticed, how did that feel?”

“It felt amazing actually except for that fall,” Johannes replied.

Craig continued: “I thought you did a great job it was clean, precise and it seemed really fast so well done.”

“That was absolutely thrilling I did slip it’s annoying and I hope it doesn’t cost me my win because this year I’m determined,” Johannes later added.

Back in the studio, Rylan reminded the pro about his “slip-up” during his attempt.

“Not bad,” the host said. “However, a little stumble on the nine-second mark.

“Do you think that could have cost you the top spot?”

“Oh babe it did kick me back a bit but I hope none of it was disqualified,” Johannes replied.

Rylan, Johannes and Cameron then took a look at the latter’s attempt at beating the record.

It was then time for Rylan to announce how many patty cakes both pros had completed in 30 seconds.

Surprisingly bother Johannes and Cameron shared an identical score of 30 and both were given three disqualifications.

The It Takes Two host announced the two dancers were joint top of the leaderboard.

“I told him we needed to take the trophy home,” South African dancer Johannes commented about fellow South African Cameron.

It Takes Two airs on BBC Two on weekdays at 6.30pm.
